This book is a collection of authentic environmental portraits of local creators, artists, and independent small business owners in the greater Sioux Falls, South Dakota area. It is a diverse showcase highlighting a small cross section of the vibrant art and small business communities in Sioux Falls—just some of the people who make this city a great place to live. The reason for combining these two groups is that the Venn diagram of their relationship is essentially a circle: being a working artist requires business acumen, and being a successful entrepreneur requires talent. The overarching purpose of this book, then, is to celebrate creativity in all its varied forms, and particularly in how it manifests itself in ways that improve the life of both the individual and the community.
